How to Make Clothing Tech Pack
Teck pack is the document tell manufacture what’s the request for the sample, should including: Pictures original sample, Inspiration, Fabric quality and colors, Sewing information, labels placement, and special instruction.
Many people want to know how to make the Tech Pack, but not sure what was needed for a tech pack, especially for a new brand. How to make a tech peck let’s know the details step by step.
First Step: picture original sample, if you are get a idea from a picture, you can show it to manufacture to let us know what is the exactly you want, so we will easier to understand, for example, if you want a special pocket shape, then you can send this picture, so we will know what is the pocket looks like. It would much clear to using words describe it.
Second step: Inspiration, it could be a design draw to show what is the design you want to make, if you don’t have it, don’t worry, tell us the idea, we will draw it for you and confirm with you. Normally you just need to send the picture and tell us which part you want from this picture, then we can collect all the information, list them, and design department colleague will help us to draw, so you can see what is the design looks like.
Third step: Fabric quality and colors, for this step, normally you need to know which style fabric you want, like light or heavy fabric, stretch or not, knit fabric or woven fabric, so we can arrange purchase team find it, if you have no idea about the fabric, it is ok, our designer department colleague will suggest the fabric according to the design, then we will bring the fabric sample confirm with you.
In the other side, some clients want to choose the fabric by themselves, so normally they will send the next season design trend, and we will find the fabric template accordingly, and ship them to you with the sample. so you will have the fabric for next season design, it would be easy for both of us, we can know the exact fabric you want.
About the color, we are operation like this:
- Take picture for all the fabric template color, then choose one of them.
- Tell us the Panton color, we will find the most close one.
- Directly ship the fabric template, so you can choose with the fabric.
Ok, now we have the fabric and color, the next is sewing information:
This part is not only including the seam way, but also the stitch on the design.
The seam way, normally we are operation like this, knit fabric using single thread and four thread seam way, woven fabric using five thread and single thread seam, the seam allowance is 1 cm.

The stitch, it is also a way to describe the design, like you want to add a pocket on the front, or add more seam on the pants, for example, a trousers,
If you want to add elastic on the waist, you can write: flat front self fabric waistband with fabric covered elastic waistband at back
If you want to add a drawstring at waist, you can write: bungee cords with pig nose adjusters at front
If you want to add a special pocket, you can write: pockets in side seams with pocket flap on top which can be opened with another pocket inside

Normally the label are: main label, size label, wash label, hang tag
Some clients may like add the metal label, price ticket and embroidery logo.
You need to let us know, where you want to seam it, you can write like this way,
Main label(picture): inside collar at the center back
Size label: beside the main label in horizontal direction
Wash label: 10 cm higher than the bottom at left side seam
Hang tag: hanging in the main label
Give the exact number to factory, then would easy to operation it

This part mainly taking about the accessories, need to customize it according to your request,
like the button, you want to add logo on it, and die to match the fabric, you can let us know, we will operation it.
Until here, people may asking, why you didn’t mention the size, yes, size is also important, but for us, we will separate the size to a size chart, because it could more clear to list on a form, what’s more, easy to print to check the size, it is also very important, everything need to be easy to operation, so worker would easy to follow.
